GIS SPECIALIST

 

Region I Planning and Development Council (a local group of individuals committed to excellence) is looking for a detail oriented, responsible, organized, and dedicated individual to join our outstanding team of professionals.  The position we currently have open is for a GPS/GIS Specialist who can begin work immediately.  We expect our new teammate to possess the technical abilities and experience for quickly becoming proficient in GIS (Geographic Information System) technology activities and tasks.  GIS experience and training are preferred including familiarity with ArcGIS, familiarity with GPS data collection and correction techniques, good inter-personal and written skills, and the ability to problem solve and work unsupervised.  Our new family member is preferred to have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Geography/GIS or related field, however technical training and experience in GIS will be considered as well.  The GPS/GIS position work flow will include information gathering and compilation utilizing GPS and associated software, field verification of utility assets, demographic data compilation and analysis, as well as public interaction and information sharing.  If selected, you will be joining us on a full-time basis and receive our extremely competitive benefit package.

PROJECT MANAGER

 

Region I Planning and Development Council (a local group of individuals committed to excellence) is looking for a detail oriented, responsible, organized, and dedicated individual to join our outstanding team of professionals.  The position we currently have open is for a Project Manager who can begin work immediately.  We expect our new teammate to possess the technical abilities and experience for quickly becoming proficient in managing infrastructure projects, grant writing and reporting, project team coordination, and the variety of other talents needed to improve the quality of life in West Virginia.   Project management experience is preferred, as is proficiency with standard office software, good inter-personal and written skills, confidence in public speaking, and the ability to problem solve and work unsupervised.  Our new family member is preferred to have obtained a bachelor’s degree in planning, political science, history, Geography/GIS or related field.  However, candidates with related experience, a strong work ethic, and a proactive mentality will also be considered.  If selected, not only will you be joining us on a full-time basis and receive our extremely competitive benefit package, you will also be blessed to work alongside some of the most dedicated, hardworking professionals West Virginia has to offer!
